Pragathi,

I had tried to do similar compilation once, but with the avalanche of companies in the web2.0 space coming up everyday, I just couldn't keep up with it. Which got me thinking, how sustainable this wave it is and wrote this article, which might be interesting to you or other readers here:

Pragathi,

Barcamps were not necessarily about web2.0. Its overlap with web2.0 was incidental. When we orgainsed the Delhi barcamp,we were unsure of even twenty people turning up at the venue, hence we thought ‘ lets make it as broad based as possible and throw in some buzzwords like web2.0, mobile computing et al’.

But notwithstanding that, it did showcase whatever web2.0 stiff is happening in india at present.

Pragathi:

Nice post. One thing we all collectively must do is prevent any sort of hype as the new generation of companies drive towards simpler and valueable consumer Internet services. Like you say, the focus must be on the right products solving clear user pain points and also an understanding of how eventually the service can make money and sustain itself to continue to serve its user base.

Best,
-Vaibhav
